The words you say account for only 7% of what you communicate. So words are only 7% of what your customers hear from you!

Tone of voice

38% of your message comes from your voice tonality. Are you speaking slowly, loudly or quietly? Are you using big words or small words? Your voice tonality is very important.

Body language

The final 55% of what you communicate comes from your body language. So, for example, when I make sales calls, I never sit down. It’s not because I like standing that much; it’s because, even when I’m on the phone, I want to use every tool I have in order to communicate effectively.

Stand up to call your clients

You can you tell if somebody’s sad on the phone, or if they’re happy. You can feel it if they’re smiling. When someone is standing up, they’re in a much different, more powerful posture, than if they’re sitting down. If you want the advantage when making sales calls, always stand up.
