We can all say that we have had trouble with cable companies at some point in our lives. When complaining about prices or poor service, we all know how big of a pain it can be to deal with poor cable customer service.
What if I could tell you that we could be seeing another player in the cable market in the near future?
YouTube, the world’s biggest entertainment video channel, is thinking of charging subscription fees for cable content. With this in mind, competitors like Rogers and Bell fear clients shifting over to YouTube for its discounted price. We can only imagine the effect this would have on the prices of basic cable. Google, a powerhouse company, has already pledged $100 million to premium video channels. This can only mean good things for YouTube as this shall:
- Increase their profits
- Create more awareness
- Allow them to be recognized with names like Bell and Rogers
