This is another one-minute segment from an interview that I did. The topic of the series is six business tips you must know to survive marketing in 2013. The segment of the day is about social media. If you're not on social media, I'm not sure how you survived marketing in 2012 let alone how 2013 will treat you.
Here is the gist of it in point form:
-a blog today is critical
-if Google algorithms do not see a blog they believe you're irrelevant
-they will punish you by pushing you further down
-if you are not on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter they punish you further
-if you are on these things, they look for how many followers you have
Every business must have a blog and be on social media. Here is one further point why:
- 59% of people ages 18 - 34 access social networking sites through their mobile phones
Marketing segments which used to predominantly watch television are now spending more time on Facebook. If you can make your blog and social media experience a mobile friendly one, you are well on track to survive marketing in 2013.
